8. “Simple Budget Ideas and Planning for the “Average Joe” Pt 2 :CMGHOW”

An Excerpt from “Only Yesterday – An informal History of the 1920”s”
By Frederick Lewis Allen

“By every rule of logic the situation had now become more perilous than ever. If inflation had been serious in 1927, it was far more serious in 1929, as the total of brokers’ loans climbed toward six billion (it had been only three and a half billion at the end of 1927). If the price level had been extravagant in 1927 it was preposterous now; and in economics, as in physics, there is no gainsaying the ancient principle that the higher they go, the harder they fall. But the speculative memory is short. As people in the summer of 1929 looked back for precedents, they were comforted by the recollection that every crash of the past few years had been followed by a recovery, and that every recovery had ultimately brought prices to a new high point. Two steps up, one step down, two steps up again-that was how the market went. If you sold, you had only to wait for the next crash (they came every few months) and buy in again. And there was really no reason to sell at all: you were bound to win in the end if your stock was sound. The really wise man, it appeared, was he who “bought and held on.”
Time and again the economists and forecasters had cried, “Wolf, wolf,” and the wolf had made only the most fleeting of visits. Time and again the Reserve Board had expressed fear of inflation, and inflation had failed to bring hard times. Business in danger? Why, nonsense!”

MGHOW Says: And we all know what came after 1929, the huge stock market crash where the DJIA lost 90% of it’s value and the start of “The Great Depression”.  Many private banks went out of business, the privately owned FED consoidated it power and by June 22, 1933 the Reblubic of the Unites States was bankrupt.  Look at the headlines prior to the crash – are they really any different to those today or those prior to the “tech bubble” collapse?  Have we learned nothing as a species and individually?  I would hope, that we have.  Cut your expenses, learn to live on less, save and prepare.

(1)Avoid: Purchasing clothes in the mall, tourist factory outlet mall or trendy store/area.  Look for good quality, practical clothing which doesn’t go out of style quickly.  Items such as shoes, boots, gloves, underwear, jeans, and good shirts are good year after year.  All clothing I purchase looks good on me (or is it I make the clothes look good! :-) ), fits good, are brand new, has no flaws (factory seconds) and are of good quality.  Don’t end up on the clothing “tread-mill” like women whom are often slaves to the fashion INDUSTRY.  Women waste a tremendous amount of money on vanity – fashion which changes seasonally.  Women seek peer approval, appearances and need to feel good.  Men don’t.

Instead:  Many large cities have a location – often in an old warehouse or factory district – where the major chains sell their extra clothes at the end of the season.  As men are less sensitive to artificial trends and we have the advantage in that much of what we purchase is good year after year.  Thus focus on clothing which is practical, good quality and doesn’t go out of style quickly.

Savings:  This year I purchased: running shoes for $ 2.99 / pair (I guess mall price would be $ 29 – $ 39), t-shirts for $ 1.00 (unknown retail cost), polo shirts for $3.00 each (regular price I guess, about $ 20.00), various high-quality light jackets for $ 7.50 each (mall price at Stitches was $ 39.99), vests with removable sleeves and a removable hood for $ 7.50 (mall price at Stitches is $ 39.99), down-filled “bomber jackets” for $ 14.00 (mall price at Stitches is $ 49.99) and so on.  I know 1 women whom paid more for 1 jacket at the mall than I paid for an entire years’ worth of clothes.

Note: Where possible I always purchase Canadian or American items even if the cost is much greater.  I’d rather support decent industry with fair trade practices, retirement and benefit programs than slave labor in a hostile and foreign nation.  Remember, unless an item is made in the US or a westernized nation it’s likely made with virtual slave labor so support domestic industry.  The real cost of a pair of most clothing is probably under 1 cents / item.  Do you really think a shirt made by small boy/girl under slave earning a few cents a hour is worth $30?  Most brand labels are manufactured in sweat-shops located in nations which have no real worker protections and massive poverty and over-population such as China and Bangladesh.  Our fathers and grand-fathers fought for our rights – keep them!

(2)Avoid: Purchasing goods at retail prices and during peak sales periods such as “Boxing Day” when “fake sales” abound.

Instead:  Find out where low cost merchandise outlets are.   Most malls and stores which feature great savings often do not advertise much.  Some old malls have long ago paid for themselves, the stores therein have lower rents and consequently you may find bargains there.  So BEFORE you need something start keeping your eyes open for the price.  I find places like Wal*Mart and Canadian*Tire are often over prices, even when the item is supposedly discounted.  Avoid trendy malls, fake tourist factory outlets, second hand stores, most garage sales, and some flea markets (unless you know a good deal when you see it).

Likewise many stores have fake “Christmas” and “Boxing Day” sales.  For instance, they may raise the prices before the sale and then claim later it’s on special sale for 50% off (really their regular price).  Most sales occur in late February and March when sales are drastically down, stock is sitting idle, the store may be in financial difficulty and seasons are changing.  Cash talks loudest in a silent store during off-season!

Lastly, look for promotions, loss leaders, coupons sales and once a year “real” sales.  Wal*mart has a great anniversary sale including 50% off on vitamins and supplements.  Parma-plus occasionally has coupons for 50 % off vitamins (2 for 1), stores like Shoppers Drug Mart is targeting basic foods and have daily specials like milk for $ 3.99 / bag and coffee for $2.99 / tin.  Dominion recently had a 2 for 1 sale on whole chickens, No-Frills often has a great “dollar” sale once or twice a year and Zellers had 50% off already heavily discounted clearance items.  Know what you’ll need and be patient – buy when you find a great deal no sooner!  Use a credit card with an bonus “extended warranty program” to add an extra year (free) to your purchase warranty and always buy new.  Oh – and don’t foget the “dollar stores” and discount strip malls – great deals there!  I aim for 50 – 75 % off the REAL regular price – that’s a good deal!

Savngs: Some purchases I made this year (in Canadian $): 600 W, 1200 peak watt DC – AC Inverotor for $15.00 (regular $80.00), a laser level for $ 3.00 (regular $30.00), 8-cup coffee maker which I’ll send to the Philippines for $ 4.00 (regular $ 29.95),  organizional swing out tray with 15,000 screws, bolts, nails and fasteners was $ 5.00 (regular $ 40.00), tarps at the dollar store for – well – a dollar (reg. at Canadian Tire is about $ 10 -$  20 / tarp) … and so on.

(3)Avoid: High speed internet (ADSL, cable..) unless you really need the download/upload bandwidth.

Instead: Find a low cost dial-up provider in your area.  Use Firefox or newer versions of Internet “Exploder” (IE) and use “tabs” to open multiple pages at a time whilst you get a coffee.

Savings: At work I hooked up a 100 Mbps wireless MAN/WAN back in the 1998 timeframe.  I had high speed ADSL service to my house for many years.  I went back to a unlimited dial up account with no advertising or popups.  For high-speed I paid about $ 50 / month including taxes and the router rental. Now I pay $ 2.95 / month (not including taxes) for unlimited use, no pop-up ads, web space and an email addresses.  In a year that is $600.00 after-tax cost / year vs. under $40.00 after tax cost.  The savings work out to $ 560 / year and adding 40% for “income tax”, means I would have to earn about $ 784 at work (everyone pays income tax).  Over 5 years that is a gross savings of $ 3, 920 !!  Roughly $ 4,000 ($ 2,352 net) I do not have to slave for!  Dial up may be slow but I rather invest in ASSETS which do not disappear on me.

Tip: I mostly read financials, download weekly financial podcasts so my needs are quite lite.  So I start loading all the financials into allot of Firefox tabs, walk away and have my morning coffee.  As for podcast downloads, I do them overnight or when my wife and I are not home.  It’s fun to watch videos but quite frankly, it’s not worth the money.

Bonus: As my connection is so limited it’s very hard to hack my system.  It’s pretty obvious when bandwidth is being used by another application which gives me allot of time to check my firewall.

(4)Avoid: Bottled Water, Tap Water, plastic water containers

Instead: Purify your own water!  50% of water sold in China is simply tap water.  Many bottled waters including many popular brands are simply filtered tap water.  Again, it’s the whole question of quality and safety.  As the global economies asianize business will increasingly get done that way.  In other words, “whom you know” will become more important that “what you know” and connections and short-term profit will be far more important than high quality and long term growth.  So build or buy your own top quality gravity water filter or siphon filter and know you are drinking filtered water sans most chemicals, hormones, bacteria and viruses (*killing viruses may require another step such as water pasteurization).  Water is big business, public water interests are being sold off daily to large private compnaies so you an expect eventially costs to go up, quality to go down and coverups for the times when things go wrong.

Savings: You can build a gravity fed water filter system using a Berkley water filter (as used by the Red Cross in places like Africa and disaster zones, where only untreated water is available) for under $ 80.00.  It’s good for about 6,000 gallons (3,000 gallon / filter).  That’s about 1.3 cents / gallon (about 4 liters).  The cost goes up slightly if you want a post-filter (needs to be changed yearly) added which removes fluoride and arsenic.  As fluoride is a poison and not good for you (or your teeth!) I recommended that highly.  The cost goes up slightly, maybe to 2 – 4 cents / gallon not including the cost of the unfiltered water should you have a water meter.

* Water meters in the US are RF.  I’ve read that the reason that Wal*Mart has a interest in them (as in owns) is that they are designed to read RDIF tags in your products such as clothing and household goods.  As RDIF has a very short range and is passive, companies needed an excuse to get something into each and every home which could activly read the RDIF tags and then transmit back useage.  Likewise, water meters just based on simply consumption metric can be used to tell how many people live in a household, when they are home, and so forth.  Did you know some toothpaste tubes have caps with embedded RDIF tags which transmits when the tub has been opened.  “Big Sister” meets marketing.

7. ” Simple Budgets Ideas and Planning for the “Working Joe – Pt. I  :CMGHOW”Allot of men tend to think that to have a say in society or to become more independent they must become rich.  Money translates into power which translates into influence, happiness and success.  In many cases this is simply not the case.I once came across a man who said that this year he had made much more than the previous year.  He said this was bad as it meant that he had less time to spend with his children, wife and personal interests.  The higher up your income is the more taxes you pay, the more dependent you are upon that job and the less flexibility you have.  Self-employment, and learning to budget and to “live on the cheap” can empower the “average Joe” with greater personal freedoms and a quick road to retirement and financial independent.

In this series we’ll explore ways to save money, reduce costs, how to retire early, avoid being a “wage-slave” and how to budget.

To start things off, here are a few ideas:

(1) Avoid: Eating out.  Oftentimes like any other business the emphasis is on PROFIT and not quality, safety or health aspects of the food.  Spice, sauces and other shortcuts are often used to cover-up old food.  Often hygiene is poor and diseases can be spread from employees not washing their hands (especially after going to the washroom!) and cheap meats are used.  Many foods are high in saturated fats and cholesterol and devoid of vitamins and minerals.  Ingredients may not be washed or prepared properly, foods may not be chilled or refrigerated properly in storage and may be undercooked.  Rodents and insects may infest the establishment and if illegal workers are used, diseases such as Hep C and (CDR/MDR) TB can be transmitted. Likewise, meats may be of inferior cuts, not washed or coated in lemon (kills viruses and/or bacteria).  Dangerous and highly addictive sweeteners such as MSG and Nutra-sweet may be used, Genetically modified (GM) ingredients, chemicals, preservatives, artificial flavors and tenderizers, cold pasteurization (nuclear radiation or irradiated foods) and so forth.  Always purchase the freshest foods you can (never “save” here) and pick organically grown produce when possible.  Likewise, modern agriculture means very little selection and poor vitamins/minerals due to depleted soils so choose your produce carefully.  The more you do for yourself the better the quality of your food will be.  Most friends I know whom were chefs refused to eat themselves in restaurants..I wonder why?

Instead: Make your own dishes.  I have a gas BBQ on my balcony and BBQ using hickory or mesquite wood for the best flavor.  I use the best spices and cuts of meat as well as lots of fresh vegetables and fruits.  I thoroughly wash my hands with hot and soap before I cook and when handling meats to prevent the transfer of bacteria.  I wash meats and coat them with LEMON juice (from fresh cut lemons) to prepare them.  Lemon has very powerful anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-parasites properties and even some hospitals are using it to kill “super-bugs” which traditional cleaners can’t kill.  It’s natural and safe – just buy fresh lemons (not the pre-made stuff) at your local grocery store.  Know what store specializes in what meats and food items and stock up your freezer when they are on sale.  Pork chops, spare ribs, chicken, hamburgers and other products have great sales once or twice a year.  We usually have 4 people over each weekend and everyone contributes so costs are shared.  When going to parks and attractions pack along finger foods like celery, carrots and sandwiches.  Use re-usable ice packs to keep it cold and take along your own water in ice filled thermoses (pop has on average 10 teaspoons of sugar / can and a large 7-11 “ice-cap” has 33 !! teaspoons of sugar / drink!!).  If possible make your own sauces to ensure the best ingredients.  Remember quality is the key: Focus on the best, originally grown ingredients which you can afford.

Savings: I can buy a 5 kg of fresh, meaty pork spare ribs for about $4.00 (Toronto, Canada pricing).  Eight large “Master Choice” hamburger patties sell for about $3.99 (on sale).  Last week we got “2 for 1″ chickens at Dominion which worked out to about $ 6.00 / large chicken.  Generally a meal consisting of fresh, good cuts of meat, fruits, vegetables and other sides can be prepared for under $1.50/ person  including the cost of heating.  Oftentimes, soups made of the freshest ingredients and other meals can be prepared for under $1.00 / person including the sides and ALL costs.  The quality of a self-prepared pork chop, chicken, fish or other meals often exceeds that of the best restaurants let alone “crap” food as sold at “fast food” outlets.

An average rib dinner costs me about $1.50 per plate.  I’m talking pork/beef ribs wood smoked over hickory wood, fuel, two sides, drink, salad and a DESERT all made of the freshest ingredients.  The cost of just a pork chop dinner (minus drinks, taxes and tips) last I saw was $25.00 (St. Jacobs).  For four people it would cost me about $6.00 (4 * $1.50 / plate) to cook a top quality dinner myself, $100.00 to eat a dinner of unknown quality at a restaurant PLUS taxes, dinks, desert and tip.  The $94 I save on one meal can purchase 2 top quality Berkly water filters good for 6,000 gallons with more than $20 to spare!

(2) Avoid: The coffee shop.

Instead:  Make Coffee at home or take it with you in a thermos bottle.  A smaller thermos well a few ice cubes can be used to keep cream or milk.  Make sure to pre-heat the thermos for use with your coffee to ensure it’s as hot as possible.  Likewise most snacks are overpriced and have very little in the way of food nutrition.  Use only the best filtered water for taste and a coffee filter to absorb oils and acids.  Smaller cans cost more but as freshness is the key, a more practical solution for all but larger families.

Savings: A 400 gram +/- can of coffee I like at “Shoppers Drug Mart” sells for $2.99 cdn (Regular, Dark, Decaf).  “Tim Hortons” has excellent coffee for about $ 4.99 (regular) to 5.99 (decaf).  Other brands can be found on sale, selection depends on your taste.  Also fresh coffee bean can be purchased at “The Bulk Barn” or better yet, green coffee beans (find a place which sells them using google).  Green coffee beans require you to roast them (an extra step) however you can’t get any fresher (once roasted coffee begins to decline in terms of health and taste).  One can will last us a month or so.  Outside, a cup of coffee will be at least $1.50 (med including taxes) and more.  Just two to four cups of coffee outside = a can of premium coffee which will last us all month.  The savings in a small can of coffee is enormous compared to getting coffee at the coffee shop or gas station.

(3) Avoid: Buying what is not in season.

Instead: Purchase fresh and preferably organically and locally grown products where possible.  For instance, I can purchase a 7 kg bag of potatoes for about 75 cents Canadian when they are in-season.  At other times, the cost may go to $1.00 – $ 1.50 / bag (still quite the deal).  None the less, it’s very cost effective.  I can make my own French fries, various dishes using potatoes such as delicious home-made soap vegetable or potatoes soup.  Scalloped potatoes, potatoes salad and various German potatoes dishes … and many other dishes … can be made as well.

Savings:  A 1 – 1kg bag of “fake” French fries costs about $1.00 to $ 1.50 frozen.  The fries are compressed and use BCD’d rancid oils (bleached, colored and deodorized) such as canola.  Fats contribute to many diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.  Using fresh (real) potatoes 1 kg of French fries costs about 10 cents to 21 cents to make yourself and are MUCH healthier.  Thus a serving of French fries made yourself would cost under 1 cent!  Compare this to a “fast food” place where a  tiny portion of fake French fries often cooked in lard (animal fat) at a fast food place often cost s$1.00 – $1.50 – un-believable!!  Talk about mark-up!

** Many ingredients for fantastic soups are very inexpensive.  A head of cabbage for soup and side dishes and is very nutritious costs about $1.00.  Last time I bought a head of cabbage it cost me about 99 cents and I couldn’t even fit it in the fridge!  By purchasing locally we ensure higher nutrition and reduce energy (transportation) costs – peak oil/energy is something I’ll cover in future posts.

(4) Avoid: Most cooking oils.

Instead: Use “Extra Virgin Olive Oil” (EVO) and organic (non-hydrogenated) “Coconut” oil.  Regular oils (vegetable, canola, sunflower..) are rancid during the manufacturing process.  Rancid means the item have spoiled and basically smells as wonderful a full garbage bin on a hot summer day.  The manufacturer then bleaches, colors and deodorizes (BCD) the oil to make it something a consumer would use.  This allows the manufacturer to use cheap oils and pass it off to the consumer for maximize their profit.  Oftentimes the highest profit margins are made by re-selling waste materials.  The consumer ends up using a rancid product which is harmful to their health all in the sake of the profit margin.  “EV” Olive oil and non-hydrogenated coconut oils do not go rancid during the manufacturing process due to the pressure and heat and are safe to use.  Coconut oil contains many beneficial qualities and is something we’ll look into greater detail in the future.  For instance, it’s great for people with thyroid problems, people trying to loose weight or with low blood pressure.  Where possible all fats/oils save for essential oils should be avoided.  Essential oils like flax should be purchased from a health food store refrigerated otherwise they quickly turn rancid (spoil)..

Savings:  Your health!  By eliminating first oils which are rancid and eventually most other fats from your diet, diseases like diabetes in many cases can be avoid, reversed or even eliminated.

More savings tips coming in future posts….

6. “”Wizard of Oz” and the 1933 Bankruptcy of the Republic of the United States :CMGHOW”

MGHOW Says: There are many interpretations of the “Wizard of Oz”.  I’ve posted one of these below which I thought was quite thought provoking.  I’ll post another interpretation or two at a later date.  You can also search for other versions using a popular search engine such as google.  I’ve underlined areas which I suggest you pay close attention to.

Mankind has a near limitless ability to both deceive itself as well as forget the lessons of the past.  Perhaps this is on purpose as we play the game of life and work towards changes at the soul level.  It is important to note, whilst games are played amongst the elite reality continues to move forward.  As powerful as structures and even enlightened families may appear, in the face of reality, they have no more power than the rest of us.  A rouge comet, increase/decrease in the sun’s output, solar flare, asteroid impact, ice age or countless other events can and periodically do occur.  Over such events even the most powerful and well-connected have absolutely no control.  “Lesser men” such as ourselves, the “working Joes” can only educate ourselves and protect ourselves and our loved ones as much as possible.

I believe it was recorded by ancients that after a great comet settled transited the solar system at least twice and finally into orbit as what we now call the planet Venus, fewer than 10,000 people of the that civilization survived.  Of that prior and great civilization nothing save a few artifacts and 10,000 half starved people survived.  The technology, art, buildings, languages, cities and pretty much everything else are long gone just as ours will be one day if we continue on this path.

In order to move forward, honesty, fairness, morals, wisdom and ethics need to replace deception, greed, corruption, jealousy and acts of evil.  Mankind has the potential to live almost the stars, yet we wallow here among the toxic wastes of our unsustainable lifestyle under the spell of illusion (glamour) and the rule of a few.  We cannot change others we can only change ourselves for the better…and that is both the key and a great starting place.

*****

Below, the ‘Wizard of Oz’ is presented as an allegorical representation of our U.S. economy. An economy which is currently very precariously balanced on a precipice as it were. Irresponsible spending and banking scams, played out in the international arena, have placed our nation in a state of peril.

This very clever interpretation of the classic tale should provide a better understanding of how a U.S. currency, once backed by gold, was insidiously manipulated over time and replaced by a fiat currency which is now backed by thin air at best. Some say there is a movement going on ‘behind the scenes’ to again restore our U.S. Treasury system to one which will be backed by gold. Note the symbolism of ‘the yellow brick road’ described below. The Wizard of Oz

The Wizard of Oz was produced as a motion picture in 1939 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. (Book by L. Frank Baum; Adaption by Noel Langley; Screenplay by Florence Ryerson, Noel Langley, and Edgar Allan Woolf; Lyrics by E. Y. Harburg; Produced by Mervyn LeRoy; Directed by Victor Fleming.)

Many people believe that The Wizard of Oz was (and is) an allegory for the radically new state of affairs that existed in America in the 1930s, following the stock market crash and the bankruptcy of the United States Government which occurred immediately thereafter. For all extents and purposes, it can still be viewed as the current state of affairs, inasmuch as the allegorical nature, the clues strewn throughout the story, are still relevant today. The authors of Redemption in Law, Theory and Practice [BBC of America, 2000] have, for example, provided an interesting interpretation of the story of The Wizard of Oz, one which bears a considerable amount of attention being paid. Much of what follows, comes from pages 180 to 185 of their book.

The initial setting of the story is, of course, Kansas, the geographical center of the USA, and the symbol for the heartland of America. The tornado (twister) that arrives is all about the whirling confusion that existed after the stock market crash, the theft of the countrys gold, the US Bankruptcy, and the Great Depression. The twister takes Dorothy and her dog, Toto, into a new, artificial dimension, above the solid ground of Kansas. Upon their arrival, Dorothy notes: Toto, I have a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore.

Right on, Dorothy. After the bankruptcy, Kansas was no longer, but now, an artificial corporate venue of the bankrupt US, a newly established federal territory, and part of the Federal Zone. Dorothy and Toto were in this state, which according to Redemption in Law, implies they were for tax jurisdiction purposes in the District of Columbia (aka United States ) — whereas Kansas is not included in this state, KS is.

One of the first entities Dorothy met was the Scarecrow, who represented the legal Straw Man which had been created as an artificial aspect of the former American sovereigns. The legal term, Straw Man, describes a fictitious or artificial person created by law at ones birth via the inscription in all-capital letters on the birth document/certificate — the latter being document of title and a negotiable instrument. It is allegedly by way of the Straw Man that the creditors of the US Bankruptcy can so effectively (and legally?) take for their own use the benefits of individuals labor, creativity, talents, and productivity.

In the movie the Scarecrow, describes his straw-man persona by noting: Some people without brains do an awful lot of talking. Of course, I’m not bright about doing things.  The Scarecrow then succinctly describes himself in the classic song, “If I Only Had a Brain”. The lyrics include: I’d unravel every riddle, For every individdle, In trouble or in pain.

The translation is that for every individual, who discovers the existence of his or her legal Straw Man, all political and legal mysteries, complexities, and confusions begin to be resolved. And once that same individual takes legal title to his or her Straw Man, he or she can protect themselves from legal trouble or legal damage.

The Tin Man arrives next on the scene. I.e. the T-I-N (Taxpayer Identification Number) Man is a hollow man of metal, a vessel or a vehicle, the newly created commercial code words for the Straw Man. Just as the Scarecrow/Straw Man has no brain, the Tin Man has no heart. Both are artificial persons. Natural person are created by nature or God, while artificial persons are created by human laws, for the purposes of society/government (bodies, politic or a corporations).

One of the definitions in Webster’s Dictionary is  a counterfeit. Thus the Tin Man might also represent the mechanical and heartless aspect of commerce and commercial law. As they are reputed to say in the Mafia: Nothing personal, it’s just business.

The Tin Man also carries an ax. Did you ever wonder about that? The ax is a traditional symbol for that which is above a King. In this case, commercial law, i.e. Corporate Rule is above the sovereign! It’s not a nice connotation — any more than the Axis Power is of World War II included Nazi Germany, Italy (a fascist state) and Japan; or the more recent Axis of Evil, coined by President George Bush in 2002, but curiously not yet applied to Cheney, Ashcroft and himself — the ABC’s of such.

The Tin Man, expressing relief after Dorothy had oiled his arm, said: I’ve held that ax up for ages. And perhaps he is still having to do so. For the symbol for fascism is the ‘fasces’, a bundle of rods with an ax bound up in the middle, but with its blade projecting. This fasces may be found on the American Mercury-head Dime (the Roman deity Mercury was the God of Commerce), and on the wall behind, and on each side of, the speaker’s podium in the US Senate (each gold fasces being approximately six feet in height). At the base of the podium of the seal of the US Senate are two crossed fasces. Hmmmm…

Dorothy, the Scarecrow and Tin Man are soon joined by the Cowardly Lion. Known as the “king of the beasts” is surprising to find one so cowardly. It appears to represent the once-fearless American people who had lost their courage, the courage to denounce the US Bankruptcy, and inform its creditors that they were not the chattel that could be used as collateral for the moneys allegedly owed. Of course, dealing with the IRS tends to leave most of us in the cowardly state; but that is due in large part to the heartless, brainless actions of an organization operating strictly under the laws of Commerce.

In order for Dorothy and the gang to find the Wizard (the supposed answer to their prayers), they had to “follow the yellow brick road”.  In other words, follow the money — the trail of the gold taken from America — and find who had absconded with it.

It’s important to recall from the beginning of the movie, that the Wizard was represented by a traveling mystic, a Professor Marvel,  whom Dorothy had first encountered when she ran away with Toto. The Professor’s shingle claimed that he was Acclaimed by the Crowned Heads of Europe, Past, Present, and Future.

That’s quite a claim — to include the future — but seems well justified in that the Wizard is still acclaimed by the crowned heads of Europe. Before the Banksters looted America, they had already disempowered the monarchies of Europe and looted their kingdoms. And with a human skull atop the perch above the door to his wagon, the Wizard began to lecture Dorothy about the priests of Isis and Osiris and the days of Egypt’s pharaohs.

”5. The June 5, 1933 Bankruptcy Proceedings of the United States (Declared by FDR) :CMGHOW”

aMGHOW Says:  This is a “must read”, especially for Americans.  Pay attention to the areas I have underlined.  Likewise, ponder the term “allodial title”.  It basically means you are “lord of the land”.  About 95 % of people in the US do not have a allodial title, thus, they can have their property taken away for a variety of reasons (i.e.: drugs, not paying property tax (rent)..).  I’ll have to look it up, but there are court cases where home were taken away and the reason was, failure to pay the rent.  Again, if you do not have allodial title, then you are renting the property from the US (inc), UN, IMF or some other entity.

Again, there are qualified people out there whom specialize in this.  I am no expert in this field, nor am I American.  You may also find it interesting to examine the difference between PAYING a debt (gold, silver..) and DISCHARGING a debt (federal reserve note FRN).  As I recall the house was always paid for but you enter into a contract to voluntarily “pay” for the house to the bank or lender, yet, it was always paid for!  So you’re 30 year mortgage and all the work that it entails amounts to a rather generous donation on your behalf.  It’s really all a con-game of sorts.

In a future post we’ll cover the real meaning of the movie “The Wizard of Oz” and how it all applies to this.  A hint: “Oz” refers to ounces as in ounces of gold or silver.

Speaker-Rep. James Traficant, Jr. (Ohio) addressing the House
The June 5, 1933 Bankruptcy Proceedings of the United States (Declared by FDR)
United States Congregational Record, March 17 1993, Vol. # 33, page H-1303

“Mr. Speaker, we are here now in chapter 11.. Members of Congress are official trustees presiding over the greatest reorganization of any Bankrupt entity in world history, the U.S. Government. We are setting forth hopefully, a blueprint for our future. There are some who say it is a coroner’s report that will lead to our demise.
It is an established fact that the United States Federal Government has been dissolved by the Emergency Banking Act, March 9, 1933, 48 Stat. 1, Public Law 89-719; declared by President Roosevelt, being bankrupt and insolvent. H.J.R. 192, 73rd Congress m session June 5, 1933 – Joint Resolution To Suspend The Gold Standard and Abrogate The Gold Clause dissolved the Sovereign Authority of the United States and the official capacities of all United States Governmental Offices, Officers, and Departments and is further evidence that the United States Federal Government exists today in name only.

The receivers of the United States Bankruptcy are the International Bankers, via the United Nations, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. All United States Offices, Officials, and Departments are now operating within a de facto status in name only under Emergency War Powers. With the Constitutional Republican form of Government now dissolved, the receivers of the Bankruptcy have adopted a new form of government for the United States. This new form of government is known as a Democracy, being an established Socialist/Communist order under a new governor for America. This act was instituted and established by transferring and/or placing the Office of the Secretary of Treasury to that of the Governor of the International Monetary Fund. Public Law 94-564, page 8, Section H.R. 13955 reads in part: “The U.S. Secretary of Treasury receives no compensation for representing the United States?’

Gold and silver were such a powerful money during the founding of the united states of America, that the founding fathers declared that only gold or silver coins can be “money” in America. Since gold and silver coinage were heavy and inconvenient for a lot of transactions, they were stored in banks and a claim check was issued as a money substitute. People traded their coupons as money, or “currency.” Currency is not money, but a money substitute. Redeemable currency must promise to pay a dollar equivalent in gold or silver money. Federal Reserve Notes (FRNs) make no such promises, and are not “money.” A Federal Reserve Note is a debt obligation of the federal United States government, not “money?’ The federal United States government and the U.S. Congress were not and have never been authorized by the Constitution for the united states of America to issue currency of any kind, but only lawful money, -gold and silver coin.

It is essential that we comprehend the distinction between real money and paper money substitute. One cannot get rich by accumulating money substitutes, one can only get deeper into debt. We the People no longer have any “money.” Most Americans have not been paid any “money” for a very long time, perhaps not in their entire life. Now do you comprehend why you feel broke? Now, do you understand why you are “bankrupt,” along with the rest of the country?

Federal Reserve Notes (FRNs) are unsigned checks written on a closed account. FRNs are an inflatable paper system designed to create debt through inflation (devaluation of currency). when ever there is an increase of the supply of a money substitute in the economy without a corresponding increase in the gold and silver backing, inflation occurs.
Inflation is an invisible form of taxation that irresponsible governments inflict on their citizens. The Federal Reserve Bank who controls the supply and movement of FRNs has everybody fooled. They have access to an unlimited supply of FRNs, paying only for the printing costs of what they need. FRNs are nothing more than promissory notes for U.S. Treasury securities (T-Bills) – a promise to pay the debt to the Federal Reserve Bank.

There is a fundamental difference between “paying” and “discharging” a debt. To pay a debt, you must pay with value or substance (i.e. gold, silver, barter or a commodity). With FRNs, you can only discharge a debt. You cannot pay a debt with a debt currency system. You cannot service a debt with a currency that has no backing in value or substance. No contract in Common law is valid unless it involves an exchange of “good & valuable consideration.” Unpayable debt transfers power and control to the sovereign power structure that has no interest in money, law, equity or justice because they have so much wealth already.

Their lust is for power and control. Since the inception of central banking, they have controlled the fates of nations.

The Federal Reserve System is based on the Canon law and the principles of sovereignty protected in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. In fact, the international bankers used a “Canon Law Trust” as their model, adding stock and naming it a “Joint Stock Trust.” The U.S. Congress had passed a law making it illegal for any legal “person” to duplicate a “Joint Stock Trust” in 1873. The Federal Reserve Act was legislated post-facto (to 1870), although post-facto laws are strictly forbidden by the Constitution. [1:9:3]
The Federal Reserve System is a sovereign power structure separate and distinct from the federal United States government. The Federal Reserve is a maritime lender, and/or maritime insurance underwriter to the federal United States operating exclusively under Admiralty/Maritime law. The lender or underwriter bears the risks, and the Maritime law compelling specific performance in paying the interest, or premiums are the same.

Assets of the debtor can also be hypothecated (to pledge something as a security without taking possession of it.) as security by the lender or underwriter. The Federal Reserve Act stipulated that the interest on the debt was to be paid in gold. There was no stipulation in the Federal Reserve Act for ever paying the principle.

Prior to 1913, most Americans owned clear, allodial title to property, free and clear of any liens or mortgages until the Federal Reserve Act (1913) “Hypothecated” all property within the federal United States to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, -in which the Trustees (stockholders) held legal title. The U.S. citizen (tenant, franchisee) was registered as a “beneficiary” of the trust via his/her birth certificate. In 1933, the federal United States hypothecated all of the present and future properties, assets and labor of their “subjects,” the 14th Amendment U.S. citizen, to the Federal Reserve System.

In return, the Federal Reserve System agreed to extend the federal United States corporation all the credit “money substitute” it needed. Like any other debtor, the federal United States government had to assign collateral and security to their creditors as a condition of the loan. Since the federal United States didn’t have any assets, they assigned the private property of their “economic slaves”, the U.S. citizens as collateral against the unpayable federal debt. They also pledged the unincorporated federal territories, national parks forests, birth certificates, and nonprofit organizations, as collateral against the federal debt. All has already been transferred as payment to the international bankers.

Unwittingly, America has returned to its pre-American Revolution, feudal roots whereby all land is held by a sovereign and the common people had no rights to hold allodial title to property. Once again, We the People are the tenants and sharecroppers renting our own property from a Sovereign in the guise of the Federal Reserve Bank. We the people have exchanged one master for another.

This has been going on for over eighty years without the “informed knowledge” of the American people, without a voice protesting loud enough. Now it’s easy to grasp why America is fundamentally bankrupt.

Why don’t more people own their properties outright?
Why are 90% of Americans mortgaged to the hilt and have little or no assets after all debts and liabilities have been paid? Why does it feel like you are working harder and harder and getting less and less?

We are reaping what has been sown, and the results of our harvest is a painful bankruptcy, and a foreclosure on American property, precious liberties, and a way of life. Few of our elected representatives in Washington, D.C. have dared to tell the truth. The federal United States is bankrupt. Our children will inherit this unpayable debt, and the tyranny to enforce paying it.
America has become completely bankrupt in world leadership, financial credit and its reputation for courage, vision and human rights. This is an undeclared economic war, bankruptcy, and economic slavery of the most corrupt order! Wake up America! Take back your Country.”

4. “All Charged Up! – II”

4. “All Charged Up! – II”

Recommendations:

d. I’ve personally own a Rayovac IC3 15-min charger (AAA/AA sizes, 4 battery capacity, 120V) as well as a 15-minute NOMA (AAA/AA sizes, 2 battery capacity, 120V) rechargeable battery system.  I prefer the NOMA by far as it also charges standard rechargeable metal-hydride or nickel-cadmium (Ni-cad) batteries in 30 minutes, whereas, the Rayovac requires about 12 hours.  Thus even regular rechargeable ni-cad and metal-hydride batteries charge in short period of time extending their usefulness.  In the future, if your 15-minute batteries are worn out and no new batteries are available, you can always purchase the older style rechargeable batteries.  Thus, your batteries can be recharged quickly enough during periods when the power infrastructure is working.

Additional, NOMA  has a nice swing-out 120 V plug making it very convenient whereas the Rayovac 120V IC3 charger has a bulky external power adapter.  On the positive side, the Rayovac can charge 4 batteries at once as opposed to the NOMAs 2 battery capacity on the unit I purchased.

* The batteries can be charged as many as 1000 cycles, 500 being most likely closer to the actual average.  There is no memory effect so it’s best to “top them” up as required.

* The 15-minute battery technology has also been used by many other brand names such as Sony and Energizer.  I annot comment on their strengths and weakness (primary of the charger unit)

e. Another battery type I prefer based upon my experiences is the Canadian made Pure Power XL rechargeable alkaline battery system..  Only purchase the newer types with use “XL” (eXtra Length) batteries which last longer and can be charged far more often.  The advantage over the 15-minute battery systems is storage life.  These batteries hold a charge up to 7 years!, thus, they are great for.  The unit I have charges up to 4 batteries at once (AAA/AA sizes) and unfortunately uses 120 V input sources only.

* The batteries can be charged as many as 500 cycles, 250 being most likely closer to the actual average.  There is no memory effect so it’s best to “top them” up as required.  The batteries last longest if recharged more frequently than allowed to run down.

f. Also purchase some good quality disposable alakine batteries and store them in your freezer.  In Canada, on sale, I can find *NEW* batteries often in packages of 20 or more for under $5.00.  Always check the expiration date as you want the batteries to last as long as possible.  Rotate your stock as required.

Tips:

g. Many times, the recharger unit is practically thrown in for free.  At a local store they had Rayovac IC3 AA batteries for $ 13.99 (Canadian) for a package of 4.  I purchased the NOMA unit for $20.00 including the superior recharging unit, and 8 batteries (liquidation sale).  I purchased 3 units giving me 2 spare chargers should I require them, or should I need to charge more than 2 batteries at a time – which will be the case in an emergency.  The now-obsolete Rayovac units, I shipped over to my residence in the Philippines.  Look for bargains and liquidation events or dealers.

h. Purchase a low-cost DC-AC inverter with a cigarette lighter connection AND clamps for a large battery.  In a pinch you can charge your batteries using your cigarette lighter or from a small scale solar power system.  The latter you an make yourself for a relatively low cost.

i. If you’re in an area where there is the possibility of floods, hurricanes (typhoons, cyclones), tornadoes and so forth, make sure to store your spare batteries and recharger units stored in water-tight plastic pails.  You can often purchase plastic food pails at bulk food dealer often for free – or for a buck.

j. Try to charge the batteries in a location where the damage of an battery explosion is minimized.  I’ve had top quality alkaline batteries internally short out (putting it into water cooled it down – I was lucky).  As I live in an apartment, I recharge when I can on the balcony and orientate the recharger so any explosion is directed away from my unit.  Of course, I make sure it’s sunny as water and electricity do not mix.  Likewise, I also make sure to use a power bar with a top quality surge, spike and noise suppressor.

k. You can purchase some batteries in bulk.  If you’re purchasing (say) Pure Energy batteries, purchases of 10 or 20 or more batteries results in savings from bulk dealers.  Again, as they have a 7-year shelf life batteries can be thought of as a form of savings or an investment.

* Don’t underestimate your cost savings with a rechargeable battery.  Each battery can replace 250 – 1000 conventional alkaline batteries depending upon how they are used.  That is in terms of recharge cycles.  As some batteries like Pure Energy can last up to 5 times longer than an alkaline battery, this figure may be substantially higher.  A package of 10 alkaline batteries could replace a shelf-full of regular, disposable batteries.

l. You can purchase adapters which allow AAA and AA batteries to power up devices such as cell phones, USB devices and some lower power AC adapters.  They can add run-time or provide emergency recharges to low current devices such as MP3s and digital cameras.  For instance, my flight time from Canada to the Philippines is 24 hours, with another 4 hours at the airport and an 8 hour drive upon arrival.  In short, my ‘commute time’ is 36 hours.  I usually listen to business and investment news on my MP3 player (recorded podcasts).  So I use such a device to re-charge my MP3, which otherwise, would last only about 13 hours on a full charge.  Who says all preparations can’t be useful in everyday life?

m. Metal hydride, lithium-ion, hybrid metal hydride, and rechargeable alkaline batteries have no ‘memory-effect’ like nickel cadmium (ni-cad) batteries – thus you can keep them ‘topped up’.

n. Certain types such as metal hydride do discharge quickly on the shelf and thus it’s important to re-charge them before use.  Also due to shipping restrictions, you may not be able to ship batteries outside the nation or origin depending on regulations.  For instance, Amazon wouldn’t let me ship from the US to Canada.

o. You can purchase a wide variety of items which operate off of AAA or AA batteries including LED table lamps.  Search the web….Google and other search engines are invaluable resource locating tools – use them.  This is, IMO, a far ore practical solution than a multi-thousand dollar solar electrical system for emergency use.  Many such items can even be purchased at bargain and ‘Dollar Store’ outlets.

So, why feel drained?..put a charge back into your life no matter what life throws your way!

3. “All Charged Up!”

3. “All Charged Up!”

A case look at nations in trouble such as Argentina during their fling with hyper-inflation and current day South Africa into their decent into a Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia) style he*l-hole reveals the same lessons.  There are basics required for survival.  Some are obvious such as security, water and food and others, whereas, others are not.  This is one of those items which belongs in ‘not obvious yet necessary’ categories.

Batteries.  I knew you’d get a charge out of that!

I was reading an on-going BLOG of a gentleman in post-hyper-inflationary Argentina.  The middle class had been decimated, poverty and corruption was everywhere and crime was one of those things that happened to *YOU* – unless you were very, very careful.

Batteries can make daily life with unstable electrical infrastructures easier – and safer.  For example, they can power a infrared, portable water purifier, a small personal fan, night-vision optics, LED flashlights, radios and even small LED reading lamps.  By being pro-active now you can minimize the impact failures in the electrical infrastructure will have on you.

Here are some general guidelines, recommendations and tips:

General Guidelines:

a. First of all, it’s best to focus on the most common standards.  They are in order of smallest to largest (storage capacity): AAA, AA, C, D, 9Volt, 6-Volt.  From those, the AAA and AA are by far the most common while the others are slowly phasing out.  Thus, it is prudent to standardize your purchases on AAA and AA batteries as they will be the easiest and most inexpensive to obtain before an emergency.  There are many other types available, avoid these, as they will be hard to source in difficult times (many are manufactured overseas).

* You can purchase inexpensive – under $2.00 (Canadian) adapters which allow you to use AA batteries in devices requiring C or D batteries.  You’re run time will be significantly less, however, you won’t have to stock as many sizes of batteries and chargers.  Remember, Keep-It-Simple-Stupid, or KISS is a good rule to follow.

b. Keep in mind, during an emergency situation, they (AAA, AA batteries) will also be the first stocks to deplete.  For those in a hurricane (typhoon, cyclone) , earthquake or other disaster zone, you probably noticed a mad panic of people prior to any warnings and the same old essentials being grabbed first.  Thus, *YOU* want to prepare well ahead of any emergency events as stores and the entire infrastructure of westernized nations work in an Just In Time (JIT) environment.  In other words, there is no inventory and any surges above normal purchasing habits or any disruptions to lengthy supply chains will result in empty shelves.

c. Remember, electrical power in westernized nations will likely be increasingly intermittent in the near future.  Not only is the electrical grid obsolete and in desperate need of infrastructure improvements, BUT, electrical generation will soon be in question due to economic issues (possible collapse of the US dollar, credit crises..) and supply limitations (think: peak oil).  Study modern day South Africa and it’s decent from a first work nation into a Zimbabwe-like 3rd world nation.  The electrical infrastructure is already intermittent, load shedding (rotating blackouts) common, power theft (Illegals hookups) are widespread and for all this, rates to paying customers are being as*-raped!

In other words, purchase recharger’s and batteries which charge quickly.  Many rechargeable battery systems require at least 8 hours to recharge.  Some require 24 hours.  Thats way too long.  Purchase 15-minute rechargeable metal hydride battery systems.  Introduced a few years ago, they are, being phased out so act quickly.  You can still find stock at bargain liquidation prices on the internet.  For example, I recently purchased several 15-minute NOMA 120 V recharger complete with 6 -AA 15 minute batteries and 4-AA batteries for $20.00 (Canadian).  The same unit sans additional batteries sold at Canadian Tire for around $70 not too long ago.  These items were new and not refurbished.

As a complimenting strategy, also purchase additional rechargeable batteries which have a very long shelf life.  Some batteries discharge on the shelf in a matter of weeks, others, last up to 7 years.  Thus, use the 15-minute batteries which discharge without use as your primary batteries and use the long-shelf life batteries as required during longer blackout or brownout periods.

 2. “Of Challenges, Preparations and Common-Sense…”Many westernized nations face challenges more severe than they have anytime in history.  Should I continue this BLOG we will explore a few of these in greater detail.  That being said, my main focus aside from information is to explore *SOLUTIONS* for us average “working Joes”.  As I always said, “problems are solutions waiting to be born”.  Oftentimes, the times of greatest challenge afford the greatest opportunity — particularly in areas such as self-growth.It is very important that you both *EDUCATE yourself* in many a wide variety of areas as well as remain *INFORMED* on what in happening in the world using alternative information sources such as: pod-casts, short-wave, and independently operated web sites.  Of course, one should beware of the on-going, well-funded and wide-spread efforts of using the internet for spreading “dis-information” – in other words – use your *COMMON-SENSE”!  The “web” is a fantastic tool to educate yourselves – however don’t kid yourselves – it won’t be around forever.  There are many moves afoot which will transform the into just another mass media control outlet like the evening news or the many lame “news”-papers.  Likewise although higher education has its place it is best to (where possible) to *SELF-EDUCATE* yourself.  Remain independent in all aspects of your life – spiritually, financially, emotionally and so forth.

* On the subject of the internet, be wary of the massive amount of DIS-information and the various DIS-information tactics used.  Use common sense, independently research and *THINK*.

Some of these challenges are beginning to manifest themselves in such day to day life.  The rapidly rising cost (asset inflation) of goods, services and fuel is one example.  “Inflation”, btw, is a gentle way to say, “currency debasement” as in “your fiat funny money backed by nothing is rapidly becoming worth-less until is worthless”.  All fiat currencies sink at different rates until they eventually reach their true value – ZERO – there are no exceptions to this rule.  Other challenges still have to manifest themselves to the general public such as the massive and global water “privatization” schemes which will inevitably lead to chronic water shortages and absolute control over this resource by an handful of people.

Remember: the elite plan and develop areas decades or perhaps even centuries ahead of the masses. The “smart-money” often heads there a decade of so before the general public.  Institutional players and insiders often move into markets months or even years ahead of the masses.   Contrast this to the masses whom like sheep find themselves over-and-over led to the perfectly wrong investment at the perfectly wrong time.  That is why 80+% of the players in the financial markets LOSE over an extended period of time and only 1 – 4 % do very well.  It truly is a rigged game of the elite and well-connected.  Laws are created to benefit the few and control the many.  Fractional, fiat monetary systems are deigned to transfer the hard-earned real assets and savings from the many into the hands of the few.  Be as wise as a serpent but as harmless as a dove.

In other words: You need to become sensitive to the moves and true motives of the elite and tune out the unconsciousness “noise” of the public and the maniupulations of the general media.  To do this you need to learn to use common sense and to be a independent in your research and steadfast in your morals and ethics.  Most of all you need to learn to once again *THINK* for yourself.

It is said by some, the overall consciousness of people is under 5%.  That is to say, the best of us are at best dimly aware of reality and the majority of us virtually sleepwalk though life acting only on primal responses (i.e.: greed, fear, anger, lust..).  If humanity is to move forward we each need to individually  evolve.  To do this, the world needs more masculine energy not less (I’ll explain this more in a future post)!  Sadly, just as it is recorded in ancient records there were 6 previous global and more advanced civilizations to ours it looks like our is the next one heading for the “dustbin” of history.  None-the-less, the severe challenges we face is both a chance to show what we’re really made of as well as evolve.  True men are at their best when conditions are at their worst.

Take the USA.  Americans face enormous issues such as: massive illegal immigration leading to a “balkanization” of the nation (read: probable future civil war and overpopulation), retirement crises starting in 2008, peak oil which should really begin to bite between now and 2010, likely hyper-inflation by 2010 and abandonment of the US $ as the world reserve currency, the results of decades of massive off-shoring of it’s manufacturing and technology, loss of American ingenuity/innovation and traditional values, decline of the American family, move away from the petro-dollar as the world’s reserve currency, spiritual crises, loss of intellectual property (IP), loss of the Republic to a “democracy” (or “corp-gov”), and so forth.

Just as the greatest storm in history if forming we find America at it’s weakest.  Loss of real leadership, no national vision, feminization of all aspects of the nation, the effects decades old war of men (fathers, husbands..) and boys, a focus on greed, entitlement and entertainment, loss of interest in ethics and morals and so forth.  The US and many westernized nations are like giant, felled logs in a forest.  The may appear strong but decay has long ago hollowed it out.  The USA is the most indebted nation in world history and is utterly dependent on foreign and often hostile nations for just about everything.

Obviously things are quickly heading downhill towards a rather large precipice and as men, we need to *IMMEDIATELY TAKE ACTION*.  That means freeing yourself from decades of feminist propaganda, learning to THINK and by taking RESPONSIBLY for your own health, safety and well-being..  It is a women’s trait to TALK endlessly about their feelings on various issues yet never offer – much less -  IMPLEMENT a *SOLUTION*.  ACTIVELY DOING THINGS is the result of MASCULINE ENERGIES and thus, traits of MEN.  That is why civilizations are built by men (patriarchal nations) whilst areas with an over abundance of feminine energies (matriarchal) decay at best or remain uncivilized.

Why not start *RIGHT NOW* by making a list of the top items you and your family require.  Then do some research and fill in the blanks covering your: 1.immediate future, 2.long term future, and 3.retirement/old age requirement.  Be practical and learn to do this using what resources you do have.  Also, keep it within your family…in times of civil unrest the less other know about your preparations the safer you’ll be.  Remember, people may not agree with what you have to say, they may not support you and they may even ridicule you BUT they will remember you in emergency times.  Desperate people do desperate things….keep your preparations to yourself and instruct your family accordingly.

I mean really do some innovative thinking on these topics (aka:BRAINSTORM!), stop following the herds on their way to the slaughter house, and then (most of all!) *DO-IT*.

Remember: survival is not just about preparations, brute strength or even “connections”.  Oftentimes about INGENUITY, RESOURCEFULNESS, INNOVATION, ADAPTABILITY and ability to be INDEPENDENT whilst remaining positive and in good spirit.

With that thought (and assignment), I leave you for this week & very much look forward to your comments.

1. “Welcome !!!”

Welcome to my blog, A Man-Going-His-Own-Way (MGHOW).  I find in many cases men do not prepare for inevitable emergencies due to ridicule and other negative societal pressure and feeling of helplessness in part due to limited resources.  Most emergencies you’ll encounter in life including “retirement” are not world shattering events.  Most solutions are fun, simple and relatively inexpensive – perfect for us men with a modest income.

Should I continue this blog I will focus on innovative and low cost *SOLUTIONS* which also come in handy in improving the more mundane “everyday life” as well as information and resources you really need to know about.  How to store and purify water, how to save finance, invest and budget, natural remedies for men, rechargeable battery ideas, and/or built in solar oven … we’ll cover many topics which men can use to *prepare*.  This blog is intended for MEN and is certainly not intended for “femi-nuts”.

Speaking of information which you need to know, I’ll also post on many topics you need to be both aware of and up to date on.  Topics like the bankruptcy proceedings of the US, what fiat money REALLY is, “peak oil”, the rise of China as a super-power and so on.
